Plagiarism Policy

The editorial board of Jurnal Paradoks Hukum strongly rejects all forms of plagiarism. As such, the journal enforces a strict policy by applying sanctions to any plagiarism detected in submitted manuscripts. All manuscripts undergo an initial plagiarism screening using Turnitin software, conducted upon receipt. This ensures that each manuscript is free of plagiarism before proceeding to the peer review stage.

1. Definition of Plagiarism
Using or imitating another’s language or ideas without proper attribution, including copying text, paraphrasing, or using data without citation.
2. General Writing Policy
Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under review elsewhere. Quotes and reused material must be cited and permission obtained if needed.
3. Plagiarism Levels and Sanctions
Level Description and Sanction
Minor Copying short passages without key ideas or data → Warning and revision required
Intermediate Copying substantial portions without citation → Rejection and 1-year ban
Severe Copying core ideas or originality → Rejection and 5-year ban
4. Collective Responsibility
All authors share equal responsibility. Violations apply to all listed authors.
5. Self-Plagiarism
Reusing:
  • >50% = Severe
  • 10–50% = Intermediate
  • Only method section = Minor
Authors must declare overlaps and get permission.
6. Special Cases of Reuse
  • a. Unpublished presentations – allowed
  • b. Translated articles – disclose and obtain permission
  • c. Historical/significant articles – require permission and disclosure
7. Monitoring and Enforcement
  • a. Blacklist maintained by layout editor
  • b. New submissions are checked
  • c. Blacklisted authors face strict action

  • b. Authors sign agreement in copyright transfer form
